IV infusion bottles are administered directly into the patient's bloodstream - the tamper-evident integrity of the bottle seal is a critical patient safety requirement. The 32mm flip off cap provides the standard aluminium crimp tamper evidence for glass infusion bottles: the continuous aluminium skirt crimped under the bottle neck flange creates a seal that cannot be broken without visible evidence of tampering. The flip tab, once removed, cannot be replaced - and the aluminium skirt, once crimped, cannot be uncrimped without destruction of the cap. These tamper-evidence properties are unchanged at the 32mm scale and meet the same pharmaceutical packaging standards as the smaller formats.

One of the practical advantages of the 32mm cap over smaller sizes is the substantially larger PP flip tab surface area - the central blue, red, green, or other coloured PP disc on a 32mm cap is nearly three times the surface area of the equivalent disc on a 20mm cap, and approximately six times that of the 13mm cap. This larger surface provides more space for printed text, embossed product identifiers, or debossed lot number information on the cap top - a practical benefit for high-volume IV fluid manufacturing where the cap surface is often used to carry supplementary product identification in addition to the bottle label, and where the large cap must be legible to a healthcare worker inserting an IV spike under time pressure.

Large-volume IV fluid manufacturing is typically a high-speed, fully automated operation - glass infusion bottles are filled, stoppered, and capped on continuous rotary filling lines running at hundreds of bottles per minute. The 32mm flip off cap must perform reliably on these automated lines - the cap must feed consistently from the cap supply hopper, orient correctly at the capping station, and crimp evenly and securely around the 32mm bottle neck with the correct crimp torque on every bottle.
